Octavo. 64pp. Wrappers. One of several printings, all dated 1789. On-line WorldCat lists eight variant issues, all with different pagination. They have 47, 64 (this copy), 30, 59, 39, 37, 32, and 45pp. respectively. There are two copies of the 37pp. version on-line for sale, one with a claim for being the first edition. If indeed that is the first edition, all the others were probably printed in quick succession. In any case, an uncommon example of a biting piece against the clergy and nobility by the female fishmongers of Paris, written in the slang of the 'Halles.'

In Library, 4th series, volume 20 (1939-1940) number 3, 28a; ESTC N505454. In this edition, the second line of the imprint ends "and Religious", and price (in upper and lower case) begins "Price 1d. each, ..." This form of imprint was used between May 1795 and January 1796 (Spinney). Price from imprint: Great allowance will be made to shopkeepers and hawkers. Below imprint in square brackets, in black-letter: Entered at Stationers Hall. Entered in the Stationers' Register 29 June 1795. ESTC records only two copies; one at the BL and the other at the Bodleian.
